High School Sponsorship

Our desire is to raise $6,000 to give the gift of education to the 11 graduating students. We invite you to partner with us this giving season to help make our student’s goals of attending high school become reality!

The Royal Promise Christian school, located on our mission campus in Asikuma, currently only serves grades KG 1- JHS 3 (kindergarten through junior high). After completion of JHS 3, students will continue onto senior high school at a boarding campus. Sadly, many students in Ghana drop out of school before attending high school due to financial restrictions and family obligations. At Royal Promise, we firmly believe in meeting the educational needs of our students by providing financial assistance to guarantee the advancement of their education.

Throughout the three years of high school, students are required to cover admission fees, provisions and living expenses (school uniforms, clothes, shoes, pillow, sleeping cot, blanket, travel trunk, etc.).

By U.S. standards, the cost of $6,000 for all 11 students to attend high school for 1 year may not seem like a daunting amount, but here is a little perspective:  According to the Ghana Statistical Service, 6.8 million Ghanaians live on less than $1/day (GHC 5). According to the same report, 2.4 million Ghanaians live in abject poverty and cannot afford to spend up to $0.50/day (GHC 3) on food alone. Clearly, any further expenses above basic needs such as food, seem far out of reach to a large percentage of the population living in poverty.  Receiving a high school education becomes a distant dream to so many, rather than a normal occurrence. Such is the case for those we serve in Asikuma.

When you donate towards this fundraiser, you are not only giving the gift of education but fulfilling a dream these students didn’t think could ever be a reality.

If you are interested in sponsoring one of our students on more of a personal and long term basis, we would love to connect with you and make that possible - please email admin@royalpromise.org

Comfort Boamah

Comfort is an 18-year-old girl who has been through trial at school and is one to push through the struggles of life to see her aspirations fulfilled. Comfort lost her father at a young age and lives with her aunt and siblings, she is known to be a joy to the family - always looking at the bright side of things. Comfort believes that furthering her education will be life changing and strives to become a nurse through her hard work and dedication. Her desire to serve humanity as a nurse is a testament of what she stands for. When she was quizzed about why she wants to be a nurse her cause to serve in the rural areas was touching. She has lived a life of agony and frustration and feels there is nothing good to hang onto in the past as she dares to better her life and illuminate the world of the less privilege in her future.

Bless Dzidefo Agodoh

Bless is a 17-year-old who was brought to our Asikuma mission center at the age of 8 with two of his siblings after they lost their mother. He believes Royal Promise has given him two valuable gifts; Jesus who is the root of our lives and education - he believes this will make him succeed in all of his endeavors. We are delighted at his progress and take pride in his versatility. As an instrumentalist and a vocalist, his feat is always in the church of God. Bless spends much time in church and his commitment to the things of God is exemplary.

Bless was born to a fisherman in a remote fishing community in Ghana, it is his dream to take his family from the poor living condition. He is driven by his big dreams and goals - as ambitious as it may sound, he wants to build a hospital for his community in the future because that community lacks basic health infrastructure. Having stayed in an orphanage in most part of his life, he wants to be a philanthropist to put smirks on the faces of the vulnerable. Such a dream is not a child’s play and as the African proverb says, “there is no shortcuts to the top of the palm tree.” He looks up to benevolent people like you to actualize his dream.

Nusemebia Gidisu

Nusemebia is 15 years old, making her the youngest of our graduating class. Nusemebia has faced a lot of challenges in her lifetime already, it is these challenges that have shaped her life rather than destroyed it. She faces the everyday storm with a smile because she believes the table will turn one day for her to become a lawyer. She believes that there is so much injustice in the system against the vulnerable in society and she is daring to speak for them. She feels it is too common to see men relegating their responsibilities to the background. It is therefore not surprising that she wants to advocate for women and children in her community.

Nusemebia wants to attend one of the elite schools in the country and as one of the smartest students we share in her dreams. Having lived with her mother in most part of a life in a mud straw house is not what she is enthused with. She has seen the mother toil for a new chapter to open in her life, she believes education is the key for her to succeed.

Logo Bless

Bless is a 17-year-old who was placed in a foster home at a very tender age but unfortunately the orphanage collapsed which led him to be integrated into his family. His joy is in the Lord and as a devoted Christian, he devotes much of his time to God. Life is not a race; with steadiness he believes he will overcome the storms of life. Patience is a great virtue, and this is one the of hallmarks of Bless as he has patiently walked through life.

Bless believes that he is more inclined to technical programs and his desire is to be an electrician. His vision is in consonance with his capabilities as he does a lot of technical work for the community. Life and circumstances beyond his control did not permit him to start school early but this has been a learning curve for him, and he is poised to achieve his dream. He believes he has seen it all in life, a danger foreseen is half avoided. Now, life seems unbearable, but a beautiful story will be told in future as he pursues his dream.

Albert Titi

Albert is 16-years-old and has been with Royal Promise for the past seven years. He was commuting from a distance village to the school. Commuting daily to school had a tolling effect on the finances of his mother and there were at times he had to walk. This commute brought on a lot of difficulties - finances were low causing him to walk at times, miss school, or even come with an empty stomach. Albert believes the thorns of hunger has taught him to be strong and determined in life in order to succeed. The storms of life have a way of teaching the wise lessons.

As a devoted Christian, he believes his story will change one day because God does not forget His own. He is currently a member of our campus church, Royal Gate Worship Center which has transformed him enormously. It is not surprising that he takes delight and find sanctuary in the scriptures; he believes his coast will be enlarged just like it happened to Jabez.

Albert wants to be a medical doctor in future to help in his community. He does not dream to be the first person in his community to be a medical doctor, but to be a medical doctor to serve and provide the best medical care to his community. He reckons that to become a medical doctor is not a child’s play but with determination and passion he will achieve such a remarkable feat.

Malwuli Dogbe

Malwuli is 18-years-old who was brought from Togo, a neighboring country at the age of 9 and he had to start schooling from class one due to the language barrier. Some students may not be brilliantly intelligent but with the desire to study they excel, and such as is the story of Mawuli.

Prior to his stay at the Royal Promise mission center, he had a very rigid and tough routine work which fetched the family a little that could not provide very much. He mostly went to farm early in the morning and weaved “kente” after school notwithstanding the numerous errands he had to run at home. Combining education and mini job at such a tender age certainly does not come easy but he is poised to create meaningful life out of the mess.

It is his dream to learn Building and Construction in a high school as he dreams of becoming a mason. His dream to be a mason has all got to do with his interest in building. How proud will it be for him to build his own mansion to house his family.

Adwoa Fosuaa Sarpong

Adwoa is a 15-year-old girl who has been with Royal Promise for the past four years. She is a very sweet and intelligent girl. She has infectious demeanor that brings a smile to anyone. If there is any child one can rely on then it is Adwoa, she has good sense of responsibility that makes her control even her peers. As the assistant prefect of the school, she has proven her mettle to the admiration of teachers and students.

She is so devoted to the things of God and it is not surprising that she assists the children’s department of her church. As a staunch believer, she serves as a role model to most of the students and the children in the community and she dreams of impacting positively in their lives. One of her favorite scriptures is Mark 10:45, “For even the son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many” and base on that she has developed a servant attitude.

Adwoa wants to study science in one of the ivy schools in Ghana and ultimately to become a medical doctor. She admits that being intelligent is not enough but needs extra push financially. she empathizes with the destitute and wants to serve them as a medical doctor in future.

Lesley Asare

Leslie is one of the most ambitious students in the school. she is bold, assertive and much determined to succeed in life. She has really gone through the mill just like many of our students. She is however thankful to her mother who supports her in diverse ways.

She plays a key role in our sporting activities including football and volleyball. We are much delighted with her progress in athletics. Leslie wants to be a nurse and she is assiduously working towards that. There are many who desire to be nurses because of the financial rewards but a girl with such a heart of gold, she wants to help the vulnerable in society. She said she has seen the agonizing pain vulnerable people go through and she agonizingly share in their plight.  Raising another Mother Teresa will certainly alleviate the plight of the vulnerable and that is what she wants to achieve.

Godwin Duose

Godwin is a very funny young boy who is full of life. He is never short of words and loves to make people laugh. He epitomizes a typical Ghanaian who buries the enormous problems and beam with tangible smiles sounding as if all is well.

During vacations, he works as a bus conductor and he does it with delight. He is not shy of daring to do any meaningful work that to feed himself. During vacation, students placed on our school launch mostly starve during the day and they the therefore do anything to survive. It is not only during the vacation that students work to support their parents, it is not uncommon to see children less than ten years sell all manner of things at the roadside. This habit of kids selling has become a norm rather than exception even though it should not be.

Godwin wants to be a lawyer in future. He jokingly states that being the first lawyer from his village is a dream that should not slip through his hands. Being an astute lawyer to defend children and women is all what he desires. He is not oblivious of the huge task ahead of him, but he is optimistic of achieving that by the dint of hard works.

Matthew Nukpeta

Mathew is a very sweet young 16-year-old. He is the easy- go-type and certainly fun to be with. Mathew lost the father at a very young age and after the father’s demise, life has been very difficult. He currently stays on our campus where he finds life relatively comfortable. He was full of smiles when he was asked to move to our center to complete his external exams and ever since he came, he has always been thankful to God for his favor.

He had lived all his life in a dilapidated building with the younger sister. He had to sell in the morning before school and after school to put meals on the table. Mathew is one of the few students dreaming of becoming chefs. What really might have influenced his decision for such a profession is because he cooks well and takes delight in cooking. He spends so much time in the kitchen preparing meals for the family and preparing deep-fries to sell.

Having lived in a straw house most part of his life, he is poised to place his family in a better dwelling place in future. There is such a great bond between him and the mom notwithstanding the mom’s inability to take care of him financially. He believes he has come far in life because of the mothers unflinching support to his goals. Mathew has always seen the mum in a worried state, and he is poised to wipe her tears away in future. He has lived in a deprived environment; people have ridiculed and belittled him because of poor livelihood, and he wants to open a different chapter in the life of his family.
