What We Do

Mission statement of Royal Promise:

Answering the physical and spiritual needs of the most vulnerable, through care and advocacy, to make disciples of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

At Royal Promise we take James 2:14-17 literally...

“What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.”

The purpose of our ministry is to make disciples. To share the gospel - the good news of a Savior, Rescuer who has come to reconcile us to the One, True, God. But we cannot only do that and ignore the blaring, physical needs of those who we are serving. We do both. We meet physical needs alongside discipleship. It’s not one or the other. Christ’s love compels us to do both.

When you give to Royal Promise, you are helping us to meet real needs, in real life circumstances. But that’s not all. Over and over again we’ve found that when we meet a person’s physical need, this often opens up the door - a relationship - for us to reach to their spiritual need. It’s the gateway for us to hand these we are serving a cup from the well of Living Water that will never run dry.

How our mission plays out tangibly in real life situations…

Orphan Care

Meet Emmanuel.  When Emmanuel was less than one year old, his young, pregnant mother arrived one day in the town of Fintey – just 5 kilometers from the town of our work (Asikuma).  Emmanuel’s mother asked for a place to lodge for the evening in order to continue her journey the following day.  She found a woman in the town who provided her a place to stay.  However, in the night, the young mother fled secretly, leaving Emmanuel behind.  All attempts to trace Emmanuel’s mother proved futile, and ultimately it became the responsibility of the elders of the town to decide what to do with Emmanuel.  In consultation with the police, Emmanuel was given to the woman who had initially provided the lodging.  However, the woman did not provide adequate care to Emmanuel and authorities reached out to Royal Promise for assistance.  Emmanuel was moved into our mission center in Asikuma in 2019, where he has become a welcome part of our mission center family.  At our center Emmanuel is receiving love, care for his daily needs, education, and biblical teaching.

HIV/AIDS Care

Through our assistance, a young man who we will name as Godsend, has received life-saving antiretroviral drugs that are bringing long awaited healing to his body. Godsend suffered physically for many months with painfully severe boils, frequent infections, fevers, and stomach ulcers until he received proper diagnosis, medical treatment, and special diet through our HIV/AIDS care program.  We LOVE seeing Godsend’s body so healthy now and the smile that he now wears consistently!  Godsend lives at our mission center in Asikuma, Ghana and is exposed daily to the gospel and to Godly male role models who are discipling him.

Educational Sponsorship

Through donations to Royal Promise, this sibling set of five - Thomas, Samson, Elvis, Princess and Macho - have received educational sponsorship to attend our Royal Promise Christian school in Asikuma, Ghana, where they are receiving a Christ-centered education.  This sibling set does not live at our mission center; we rather are supporting them within their family unit in the community of Asikuma. We have been very intentional to expose these siblings to the Godly leaders, bible studies, and church services happening on our campus. We are committed to this family, pursuing relationship with them, in the hope and faith that over time they will be attracted to Christ in us and take hold of faith themselves.

Medical Sponsorship

In 2018, Moral was involved in a tragic tro tro (bus) accident on his way home from a church worship service in the capital city of Accra.  Moral had attended this special event along with many other youth from Asikuma.  This accident left Moral with severe injuries, including a dislocated hip.  The local governmental hospital where Moral was first taken was not equipped to give him accurate care.  Moral laid helpless in the governmental hospital bed for two days with a twisted body and in tremendous pain, needing the urgent medical attention of an orthopedic hospital two hours away.  Moral needed an ambulance ride, x-rays, pain medication, medical treatment from specialized doctors, and a hospital stay for recovery - all bills which his family had no means to be able to pay.  Moral’s family turned to Royal Promise for help, and thankfully we had the resources at the time to provide Moral a medical sponsorship and cover these medical bills.  The final bill of care for Emmanuel was to restore his two front teeth which had gotten knocked out during the accident, and was causing him embarrassment for many days after.  Royal Promise was able to provide the finances for this dental work, and the mending of the last physical traces of the accident on Emmanuel’s body were complete.

Small business sponsorship

We have had a relationship with Elizabeth for many years, and recently she found herself to be a widow with two young children at home to care for. We recognized that the situation for her had gotten quite desperate. Through prayer and counsel with others it was determined that a solution was to offer Elizabeth the capital she needed to start her own small business of becoming a fish supplier in her small community. As we had hoped, this helped Elizabeth to be able to create income to provide for the needs of her family. We saw Elizabeth come to faith in Christ a few years ago, and since then we have been committed to continue to support her and help her grow in her faith.
