A Testimonial About Courage
Our mission is simple, we answer the physical and spiritual needs of the most vulnerable, through care and advocacy. Our organization pours our hearts into a country that is thousands of miles away, to attempt to make at least a small impact on the poor and vulnerable who are brought into our care.
One of the many testaments that conveys our mission is about a young boy named Courage.
In 2019, Courage was found a few towns away from Asikuma (where one of our mission centers is located) from a few volunteers through an organization outside of our ministry, they were headed to the market to buy school supplies when they found Courage.
While these volunteers were waiting in line for supplies, they came across Courage. They described him as being in distress - shivering, in severe pain, swollen, flies surrounding him, barely being able to hold himself up, non-verbal, and was physically ill.
These volunteers saw the situation and couldn’t ignore it, they knew he needed help. No one around the area knew the boy’s name or his family at that time. They later came to know both of Courage’s parents had died and the reason he was left in the condition he was in was because he had suffered an epileptic seizure and with no one to help him, he was suffering and all alone.
After Courage was taken to the hospital, he was then brought into our care at our Asikuma Mission Center. A week prior to finding Courage, the volunteers visited our campus and knew it would be a safe space to bring him (thank you, Jesus!!).
Fast forward to 2022, Courage is walking, talking, dancing (a lot!), and attending school at our Royal Promise Christian School. His seizures are now more manageable with the proper medication and care. He is the most smiley, up-beat, and giggly kid you will ever meet. Without these volunteers and the support of our ministry, we truly don’t know where Courage would be today. We are grateful Courage was brought into our care - everyone loves him and feeds off of his positive attitude and energy!
